The 25th session of the “CSR Thinking and Sharing” Series, a series of corporate social responsibility-focused events sponsored by the Southern Weekly Research Institute and China CSR Research Center, was held at Suzhou ESG Industry Innovation Center in SIP recently.
Themed “Zero-Carbon Parks/Factories: New Engines for Urban ESG”, the event attracted representatives from academia, businesses and third-party certification institutions who discussed strategic pathways and shared practical experience for building zero-carbon industrial projects.

During the event, several experts, including Lyu Jianzhong, deputy director of the Sustainable Development Management Committee of China Management Science Society, shared their insights on strategic logic and policy tools for development of zero-carbon industrial parks, and cited examples.

For example, in the case studies, an expert from a Shanghai-based certification company shared the practices of several industrial parks in carbon emission control, and the one from State Grid’s Taicang branch showed a logistics park’s green energy transition through the use of wind and solar power.

During a roundtable, the guests from research institutes, energy tech firms, manufacturers and carbon management service suppliers shared opinions on challenges and innovations in developing zero-carbon projects, covering policies, technology, supply chains and data.
Li Wenjie, deputy head of SIP Urban Development Research Institute, gave the participants an introduction to SIP’s systematic explorations in its zero-carbon journey.
