The exhibition of Jorge Rando’s artworks opened at Jinji Lake Art Museum in SIP on Nov 2, marking the first showcase of the Spanish master’s art creations in Suzhou. The exhibition will last till Mar 4, 2026.

Born in 1941 in Málaga, Jorge Rando is a Spanish painter and sculptor who enjoys recognition as one of the major exponents of Neo-Expressionism on an international level. Over six decades, he has been exploring humanity, nature and existence through painting, blending Spanish passion with German philosophy to form a unique visual language.
The exhibition features 115 works dating from the late 1960s to 2024, systematically presenting the most representative series by the artist.

The exhibits, drawn from the artist’s collection, private collectors and the Museum Jorge Rando, guide visitors through a spiritual journey across half a century. Highlights include the “Maternities” series, portraying maternal love with vigorous yet tender strokes and the Butterflies series, which fuses Eastern contemplation with Western expressive tension.

Vanesa Diez Barriuso, director of the Museum Jorge Rando, led a tour of the exhibition for the visitors on the opening day and gave a talk on Jorge Rando’s art world to them.
